The exterior of the cover with losses to the inlay for the foliage in the bottom left corner, some minor fading, rubbing and minor scratches to the lacquer, the interior of the cover with a few slight dents and light scratches, some minor chips to the fundmame rims with associated repair, the interior of the box with some surface wear, including some small dents, chips and slight cracks to the lacquer, some with associated black and gold lacquer repairs,
compartment fitted for a paper knife, the paper knife lacking, the iron water dropper with some wear to the patina, the base with some surface wear, including some light scratches, consistent with being placed.
