Trained in the family workshop from an early age, Ye Xiaofeng inherited his father's refined technique and meticulous brushwork, continuing the artistic traditions of the Apricot Grove Studio (Xinglin). He remained active well into the mid-20th century and played an important role in transmitting the craft to a new generation after joining the Beijing Institute of Arts and Crafts in the 1950s.
